In London’s historic Canary Wharf, the new Wood Wharf neighborhood is setting an example for sustainable construction.

This mixed-use development is revitalizing the neighborhood as a dynamic place to live, work, relax and play.

Wood Wharf is blazing a trail as one of the first projects in the UK to use Holcim’s ECOPact low-carbon concrete with 20% construction demolition materials inside.

By helping build new from old, Holcim is supporting London’s ambition to be a global leader in circularity.

Holcim’s ECOPact range helped us focus on what low-carbon and circular options are available to us. We were able to work closely together to develop alternative concrete mixes. We could only have achieved this through the open and collaborative relationship with Holcim.

A new level of circularity

With Sivyer Logistics, a member of the Holcim Group, Holcim is helping the City of London and the Canary Wharf Group achieve their sustainability ambitions. We are collaborating to create more circular building processes to lessen the project’s impact on the local environment.

Unlocking the building of the future

Canary Wharf Group will be the first in the UK to use a unique technology developed by carbon removal pioneer neustark and Holcim. This removes CO₂ from the atmosphere and injects it into demolition concrete, storing it permanently.

This pioneering carbon removal technology will allow Wood Wharf and the Canary Wharf Group to further their ambitions to reach net zero.

A new vibrant urban hub

Wood Wharf is expanding the Canary Wharf neighborhood, allowing it to further flourish as a hub for commerce, culture and living.

The site will offer a vibrant, mixed-use development, including over 3.6 hectares of public spaces, squares and parks.

By providing homes and other vital spaces in the heart of London, Wood Wharf is inspiring a new generation of Londoners to put down roots in the city.
